Copenhagen — Rosenborg Castle

We hopped back onto the hop-on hop-off bus and took it to Rosenborg Castle.

This was fairly busy. The castle was filled with opulence, and apparently there was quite a lot of intrigue in the Court. One king apparently married a woman who didn’t mind an “open marriage” but then threw a tantrum when he started to sleep with other, younger, women.
Then we descended into the vault in the basement. Behind massive walls and thick doors, and with armed guards patrolling outside, we saw some of the castle’s riches.
Tomorrow we are off to Bremen, via Hamburg.

Good luck with the Copenhagen-Hamburg train. We caught it a as an afternoon train a month ago – it was an hour late and then lost another 30 min en route. So it was dark or 90% of the journey. Also, the heating was broken in our carriage (freezing!!), there was no buffet car, no wifi and not even anywhere to fill your bottle of water. The Danes blamed it on being ‘a German train’!! Such a disappointment after the lovely Stockholm-Copehagen journey that morning.
