Lucerne Historical Museum
We visited the nearby historical Museum which was a very impressive building.
They had an extensive number of objects on display, in huge display cases stretching from the floor to quite high up. Most of them were covered with glass to protect the contents and some had a wire mesh cage.
They had an interesting system of giving visitors information. They lent you an iPad and told you to scan the barcode which was adjacent to each object.
Once scanned it will display information on the screen about the object.
This allowed them to give you extensive information about each object, and also present it in multiple languages. A side-effect would probably be that they could tell which items were interesting to visitors.
There were four floors of displays, an elevator, and an audiovisual presentation room.
