Lucerne first impressions

We arrived in Lucerne after a 45 minute ride on the intercity train.  The hotel was built before 1517 and apparently is an amalgamation of a number of smaller houses over the years. There are various change in levels as you walk along the corridor.

A short walk from the hotel is a river, with a weir across it.

Love the photo of the stairwell. I always have to take a photo of the hotel room within one minute of opening the door because somehow I manage to mess it up without even doing anything.

Yep, we always photograph the room the moment we arrive.

Looks great! The river looks very blue. Is it quite clean? Houses are very cute also.

It *looks* clean.

You MUST go and see the lion carved into the rock with the arrow in his side. It’s so beautiful. As I remember it Helen, it’s not far from the Hotel des Alpes where we stayed in 1983. Seems like last week! Haha. Have a great time in the cutest Swiss town ever.

I recognised the Hotel des Alpes, it is still there of course!!! We are staying diagonally opposite at the Wilden Mann Hotel. Great location, and beautiful at this time of year: warm and sunny.
