Interlaken and Harder Kulm

Today we declined to spend around AU$700 to go to the top of the Jungfrau mountain, preferring instead to go up the funicular railway to Harder Kulm from which we could see the Jungfrau in all its glory along with a considerable number of other mountains.

On the way back we passed a Japanese garden

Tomorrow we are off to Strasbourg in France.

I cannot believe the Jungfrau trip is so expensive – even by Swiss standards!!!!
You did just as well with the alternative although the Japanese gardens look slightly sad and neglected. That would never happen in Japan – someone would be manicuring every branch and raking a zen gravel garden somewhere. Weather looks fab!
Enjoy Strasbourg.

I may have exaggerated slightly, however after re-checking, given our ages and with seat reservations (10 CHF each) it comes to 441.60 CHF (Swiss Francs) which is roughly $AUD 630. That’s for the two of us.

I have vertigo just looking at that follicular railway. So steep, as was the $700 price tag for the alternative.

I went up the Junfraujoch from Grindlewald in 1992. At that time it must have been way cheaper than that!
